In the first quarter of 2021, the Personal Finance Budgeting and Planning category on the iOS platform saw varied performances among its top apps in the US market. Data from Sensor Tower provides a snapshot of user engagement and financial traction for these applications.

Rocket Money - Bills & Budgets showed a slight decrease in weekly active users from 440K in late December 2020 to 387K at the end of March 2021. Downloads began at 95K in the last week of December and saw a decrease to 45K by the end of March. Revenue trends also declined from $91K to $55K during the same period.

EveryDollar: Personal Budget experienced a peak in revenue during mid-January with $117K, followed by a general downward trend, settling at $64K by the end of March. Downloads decreased from 27K to 10K, while weekly active users saw a drop from 304K to 239K throughout the quarter.

YNAB saw its revenue fluctuate, peaking at $82K in early February before falling to $45K by the end of March. Downloads dropped from 12K to 3K, with weekly active users decreasing marginally from 48K to 42K over the quarter.

For BabySteps: Hit Financial Goals, revenue saw an erratic trend with its highest at $17K in mid-January and at the end of March. Downloads followed a generally declining trend from 2.6K to 1.1K.

Lastly, Hiatus: Bill and Money Manager experienced a decrease in revenue from $16K to $7K. Downloads and weekly active users both followed a downward trend, with downloads falling from 4K to 583 and active users from 6.3K to 1.9K by the end of Q1.
